SICILY. Segesta. Circa 440/35-420/16 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 8.12 g, 2 h). The river-god Krimisos, in the form of a hunting dog with collar, standing left. Rev. Head of the nymph Aigeste to left, her hair rolled up and bound with a ribbon, wearing earring and necklace. HGC 2, 1131. Hurter 107j and pl. 10, 107 (this coin, V33/R60). SNG ANS 629 (same dies). Winterthur 833 (same dies). Nicely toned and of very attractive style. Some traces of corrosion and with light scratches, otherwise, very fine.
